Durability

Weatherproof Construction Cameras

Construction sites face rain, snow, dust, and temperature extremes. Builder.Cam cameras are IP66-rated and designed for year-round outdoor deployment in Nordic conditions.

Weather Challenges Handled

Rain & Snow

IP66 rating means water jets won't harm the camera. Rain, snow, sleet—no problem.

Temperature Extremes

Builder.Cam cameras operate from -20°C to +50°C, covering Nordic winters to summer heat.

Wind & Vibration

Secure mounting keeps cameras stable. Mast-mounted cameras handle wind well.

Dust & Debris

IP66 means completely dust-tight. Construction dust won't damage internal components.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does IP66 mean?

IP (Ingress Protection) ratings have two digits. The first (6) rates solid particle protection (dust-tight). The second (6) rates liquid protection (powerful water jets). IP66 means the camera is completely dust-tight and can handle high-pressure water jets from any direction—ideal for outdoor construction use.

Can the camera handle Nordic winters?

Yes. Builder.Cam cameras are rated for -20°C and operate reliably in Finnish and Swedish winters. The camera generates some heat during operation, which helps prevent ice buildup. For extreme cold snaps, the camera continues to function.

What about direct sun exposure?

Cameras are designed for outdoor deployment and handle direct sun. The housing is UV-resistant. Cameras operate up to +50°C. Mounting position may affect heat buildup, so avoid south-facing walls in direct summer sun when possible.

Do I need to clean the camera?

Occasionally. Dust, pollen, and debris can accumulate on the lens housing over long deployments. A quick wipe with a soft cloth during site visits keeps photos clear. This is simple maintenance, not a major task.

What happens if the camera gets damaged by weather?

Builder.Cam cameras are very robust, but extreme events can happen. If a camera is damaged during your subscription, contact us—we'll work on replacement. Cameras are on loan, so hardware risk is not entirely yours.
